MELISSA LEWIS & LaRHONDA STEVENSON | CO-FOUNDERS, MOB THE BLOCK

Melissa Lewis and LaRhonda Stevenson are sisters from Prince George’s County and Co-Founders of Mob the Block, a fast-growing nonprofit and community movement focused on turning visibility into real economic impact for Black-owned businesses across the DMV.

Through strategic MOB activations, they mobilize the community to show up, spend intentionally, and support local businesses in a way that directly drives revenue, not just awareness.

In just one year, Mob the Block has mobilized over 600 community members, circulated more than $31,000 into Black-owned businesses, and helped save multiple businesses from closing. Their work is rooted in building what they call Black economic infrastructure…proving that visibility, when done right, leads to sustainability, opportunity, and long-term growth.
