JALLISA “CHEF JAYE” ARNOLD | FOUNDER/CHEF, SOFULL CATERING
Chef Jaye’s love for cooking began early, sparked by childhood curiosity, family cookbooks, and countless hours in the kitchen learning by doing. A proud graduate of Shaw University and the University of Maryland–Baltimore, Chef Jaye is self-taught, with a cooking style shaped by generations of family wisdom. Her grandmothers, mother, father, and aunts poured knowledge into her — teaching technique, flavor, patience, and how food brings people together.
Born in Washington, DC, and raised between Northern Virginia and Kenansville, North Carolina, Chef Jaye learned not only how to cook, but how to respect food — how to grow it, harvest it, and nourish people from the land. That foundation fuels her philosophy of putting the soul back in food. Her goal is simple: to create meals that satisfy, connect, and leave guests “so full” they’ll be back for seconds.
Before stepping fully into entrepreneurship, Chef Jaye dedicated 10 years as a social worker, serving her community with compassion and purpose. During that time, she began building SOFULL Catering part-time in 2015. In the fall of 2021, she made the bold decision to pursue SOFULL Catering full-time —turning passion into purpose.
Now based in Prince George’s County, Maryland, Chef Jaye caters everything from intimate dinners to weddings and large-scale events, including the Amazon Headquarters Congressional Black Caucus Gala — a career highlight serving over 500 guests. She is deeply committed to seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, using many herbs grown in her own garden or sourced from trusted farmers within a 175-mile radius.
Her talent has taken her far beyond the kitchen. Chef Jaye has cooked for members of Congress and the U.S. House of Representatives, sports organizations including the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Commanders, and players from the Washington Wizards. She has worked with major networks including BRAVO TV, OWN Network, DC News Now, Fox 5, and NBC 4. She served as the featured chef for the cast of Ready to Love Season 6 featuring Nephew Tommy, and has cooked for business and cultural leaders such as Robert F. Smith, prominent families including Serena Williams’ family, and cast members of The Real Housewives of Potomac. She has also catered events for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, her Shaw University community, and has been featured in Voyage Baltimore Magazine, Spotlight Over the City, and numerous podcasts, TV segments, and news specials.
Above all, Chef Jaye is deeply thankful for her team. She believes there is no “I” in team, and SOFULL Catering would not be what it is without the dedication, talent, and heart of each staff member who helps bring the vision to life. SOFULL Catering celebrated 10 years of service in December 2025 — what started as a dream is now a reality.
