DYANA FORESTER | CANDIDATE FOR D.C. COUNCIL AT-LARGE

Dyana Forester is a proud Ward 7 resident, D.C. native, and mom running for D.C. Council At-Large (D). She is the daughter of a retired D.C. police officer and a Mexican immigrant father, a graduate of D.C. Public Schools, and a current DCPS parent.

Experience matters—and Dyana is a leader for this moment. With nearly 20 years of experience, she has organized communities across the District to secure good jobs, expand access to quality public education, and fight for real affordable housing.

Dyana has led major legislative campaigns, including D.C.’s Minimum Wage Increase and Paid Family and Medical Leave, delivering real results for working families. Dyana has served on Alice Deal Middle School’s Local School Reconstruction Team, as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (ANC 1B06), on the Juvenile Justice Advisory Group, as a Delegate to the 2016 Democratic National Convention, on the D.C. Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, and as President of the Metro Washington Labor Council AFL-CIO.

Throughout her career, Dyana has brought people together across the District—across differences—to fight for a common goal: a stronger, more affordable, and more just D.C. for every family.
